Erin Trowbridge is the Director of Communications for the Earth Institute, is a Senior Communications Advisor to Millennium Promise and serves as spokesperson for the UN Special Advisor on the Millennium Development Goals. A former reporter whose work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Associated Press, and on National Public Radio, among others, Ms. Trowbridge has been working on advocacy and communications around the Millennium Development Goals since their inception in 2000, first with UNDP, then UNICEF and, finally, as Director of Communications for the UN Millennium Project from 2004-2006 when the Project’s mandate was completed. Ms. Trowbridge has led national and international communications campaigns on the Millennium Goals, reaching a broad public through a wide-range of media. She also coordinates a number of high profile celebrity advocates’ messages and public profiles related to the Goals. A native of North Manchester, Indiana, Erin received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College and her Masters from Columbia University’s Journalism School.
