Joelle Bassoul Mojon
Millennium Villages Project Communications Specialist
Joelle Bassoul Mojon is in charge of media and communications for the Millennium Villages Project (MVP) in East Africa, based at The MDG Centre. Prior to her work with the MVP, she was in the Division of Communications and Public Information at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), where she took part in establishing the Climate Neutral Network (CN Net). She was also responsible for the planning and implementation of World Environment Day 2008, and the UNEP awards for that year. Joelle was born in Lebanon. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the Sorbonne, Paris, and a Master’s degree in translation from Saint-Joseph University, Beirut. She worked for eight years as a journalist for Agence France-Presse (AFP). Based at AFP’s Middle East headquarters, she covered major conflicts in the region (Israeli-Palestinian, Iraq, Sudan, Lebanon) as well as other events, summits and conferences.
