Decreasing rates of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, while improving maternal and child health are the main objectives of the health sector. After conducting assessments and baseline surveys, the project works to increase access to basic clinical services, introduce disease prevention and treatment initiatives, provide advanced maternal care and obstetric services, and improve the nutritional status of village residents, particularly children and pregnant women. Health sector initiatives relate to MDG4 ("Reduce child mortality"), MDG5 ("Improve maternal health") and MDG6 ("Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases").
