According to data recently published in "Harvests of Development in Rural Africa: the Millennium Villages After Three Years," the village community has experienced the following transformations across several sectors since the project's inception:
- Average maize yield increased from 1.8 tons per hectare to 3.9 tons per hectare
- 20% reduction in chronic malnutrition (stunting) among children under two years old
- Increase in children in primary school receiving school meals from 5% to 74%
- Malaria bednet use has increased from 1% to 34% among children under five
- Prevalence of malaria has decreased from 17% to less than 1%
- Measles immunization and Vitamin A supplementation have increased to 83% and 75%, respectively
- Nearly two-thirds of pregnant women were tested for HIV
- A fivefold increase in deliveries by a skilled birth attendant
- A nearly fourfold increase in the number of people with access to an improved drinking water source
- Two-thirds of people have access to basic telecommunications, and mobile phone ownership has increased nearly fourfold
